The southern-most room among the guest rooms is reserved for the Crab, allowing them a view straight to the surrounding mountains from their part of the balconies. Knowing the Hida cares very little for most fineries, it was assumed that many of his followers felt the same, so those in charge of decorating the room kept things to a tasteful minimal style.
The main room is reserved for social activities or studies, with low tables and benches placed about in an orderly fashion, providing a place for the guests to either relax or have their meals. Two paintings adorn the room, along with glazed clay vases holding fresh or dried flowers depending on the season. The room also have a wardrobe for storage, and also provides paper, parchment, and ink for writing in a modest amount, as well as a shelf with an incense burner. Incense may be requested if needed. The room also has a raised platform with a desk, which can serve as a study and workplace.
The adjourning room is for sleeping, with only paper-screens to set in place in-between the sleeping mats to provide a modicum of privacy. A few simple wooden chests offer a place to store one's personal belongings. In addition to this, there is also a small hearth to provide warmth at night during the colder months.
